Stop ACTA - SOPA's nasty big brother has already been signed by President Obama on October 11, 2011. Please spread the word! This directly impacts over 39 countries ›
Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), created by 39 countries (including the US, Japan, and Canada) over the past three years, which will force Internet access providers, or any service providers, to “filter the net” and “remove content and block access to users.”
“Negotiated instead of being democratically debated, ACTA bypasses parliaments and international organizations to dictate a repressive logic dictated by the entertainment industries.”
These decisions are being made by unelected representatives and it will soon be voted upon in the European Parliament.
So, basically, it’s the new, much scarier SOPA. And it’s already been signed by the United States - October 11, 2011.
Please spread the word! One of the biggest problems with ACTA is that NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT!
